Large-format 3D printer designed for industrial applications. Last week, at RAPID 2019, BigRep announced the new and improved STUDIO G2, a large-format 3D printer that is designed to use engineering-grade materials for industrial applications.
The STUDIO G2 features a fully enclosed and insulated build envelope of 1000 x 500 x 500mm. The printer also features a fast-heating build platform and temperature-controlled filament chamber. The STUDIO G2’s modular temperature controls and heated filament chamber ensures materials remain dry and heated. The fast-heating build platform reaches up to 100°C in less than 15 minutes. An inductive sensor enables semi-automatic bed leveling. With two 0.6mm ruby nozzles and a dual extruder, the STUDIO G2 enables printing large-format parts at layer heights as little as 0.1mm. BigRep says future materials will include other engineering-grade materials like ASA and composite materials with garbon or glass fiber enhancement. “The new generation STUDIO G2 is a great addition to our expanding industrial portfolio of large-format printers,” said BigRep CEO, Stephan Beyer, PhD. “Based on proven, successful technology, the STUDIO G2 is upgraded with key features that industrial users need. We’ve built it for printing with the engineering-grade materials the industry demands in a next-level, space-saving printer for large-format parts.” The STUDIO G2 includes BigRep’s new BLADE slicing software that allows greater control of the printing parameters while providing presets for all BigRep-compatible materials.
