Formlabs Powder-Safe Vacuum 120V — Safe SLS Powder Cleanup

The Formlabs Powder-Safe Vacuum 120V provides a dedicated solution for safely handling loose SLS powder around the Fuse Series ecosystem. Designed for use with Formlabs polymer SLS powders, the portable vacuum is NFPA-652 compliant and incorporates grounding and filtration features intended for powder collection.

The vacuum connects directly to the integrated hose on the Fuse Sift, allowing operators to remove excess powder from build chambers, clean printed parts and surrounding work areas, and maintain a cleaner SLS production environment.

Designed for Formlabs SLS Powders

SLS powders can present combustion hazards when improperly handled. Formlabs specifies the Powder-Safe Vacuum for use with Formlabs polymer SLS powders and requires the vacuum hose to be grounded with the supplied anti-static grounding strap during operation.

Direct Fuse Sift Connection

The Powder-Safe Vacuum can connect directly to the Fuse Sift integrated hose, making it useful for:

• Clearing residual powder from the build chamber
• Removing powder and debris from work surfaces
• Cleaning the SLS workstation
• Assisting with powder cleanup around the Fuse ecosystem

Unlike Formlabs' Industrial Vacuum, the Powder-Safe Vacuum is manually operated and cannot be automatically triggered or controlled through the Fuse Sift interface.

Portable Powder-Cleanup Solution

The compact design makes the Powder-Safe Vacuum easier to move around an SLS workstation than the larger industrial vacuum option. It includes a handle and integrated storage area for the power cable and accessories.

HEPA Filtration

The vacuum uses a HEPA filter to collect fine powder and debris. A replaceable filter bag collects material in the dirt trap, while the vacuum's control panel indicates when the dirt trap needs attention.

Safety Requirements

The Powder-Safe Vacuum is intended specifically for Formlabs polymer SLS powders and the Fuse ecosystem. It should not be used with metal dusts or other highly combustible materials, in electrically classified locations, or with processes involving sparks, embers, flammable liquids, vapors, or gases.

For applications requiring Class II, Division 2 environmental compliance or a vacuum suitable for combustible materials beyond Formlabs SLS powders, Formlabs offers its Industrial Vacuum instead.
